Terje Brofos was born on May 2, 1940, and passed away on April 24, 2018. He grew up in Berg, Oslo. The backdrop to his artistic career was the advertising program at the Norwegian National Academy of Craft and Art Industry, where he studied for three years starting at the age of eighteen. Later, from 1963 to 1966, he attended the Norwegian National Academy of Fine Arts.

Pushwagner is one of Norway’s most important contemporary artists and has in recent years achieved international recognition. He enjoyed great success at the contemporary art biennales in Berlin and Sydney in the spring of 2008. Pushwagner was awarded the prize for Best Exhibitor at the Autumn Exhibition (Høstutstillingen) in 2008.
